DeSoto Caverns: Desoto Caverns is poplar caverns which bring in visitors from all over the country. Desoto Caverns is located in Talladega County near the town of Childersburg, Alabama. Known as “Alabama’s Big Cave” DeSoto Caverns is one of the neatest attractions in Alabama and is has been family owned for over 100 years. Visiting DeSoto Caverns is a great adventure and a trip of a lifetime.

Neversink Cave Preserve: One of the most amazing pits in Alabama is Neversink Cave Preserve. There is only one way into the 162 foot pit and that is by rappelling. You must ascend by the same rope and this is not trip to take alone, experience and knowledge is a must. Neversink Cave Preserve is a treasure and located in Jackson County Alabama and is owned by the Southeastern Cave Conservancy.

Stephens Gap Callahan Cave Preserve: One of the most amazing small caverns in Alabama is Stephens Gap Callahan Cave Preserve . You will hike roughly a half a mile to get to the cavern but it well worth the hike. You will be amazed at a beautiful waterfall falling deep into the cavern. There is a bottom entrance where you can hike inside and view the waterfall as it falls 150 foot deep into the cave. This is must see cave that is located near Woodville in Jackson County, Alabama

Russell Cave National Monument: Russell Cave National Monument is one of Alabama’s national parks and draws visitors from all over the country every year. Experience a step back in time and you view artifacts and displays inside the visitor center and enjoy a walk to cave and view a display of native’s in the huge cave shelter. An archaeological site, Russell Cave is home to one of the most largest records of prehistoric cultures in the area.

Manitou Cave: Once visitors from all over would would visit Fort Payne, Alabama and Manitou Cave. Most people these days don’t even know that Manitou Cave was once a booming attracting here in Dekalb, County Alabama. Manitou Cave is now closed to the public and has been for many years. There seems to be a great effort at preserving the cave and the history surrounding it. In 2016 a non-profit was formed to establish more resources and more commitment to preserving Manitou Cave.
