Cornwall Furnace was opened: 1863, was built by the Noble Brothers to supply iron products to the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War, Added to NRHP: September 27, 1972, , the furnace was burned by the Union army. Cornwall Furnace Memorial Park  is now a maintained park on Weiss lake is a great destination on any day trip in Alabama.
