Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge 509 Wildlife Rd, Gilbertown, AL 36908
The Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge consists of 4,218-acres just north of Bladon Springs State Park. The refuge sits roughly 80 miles north of Mobile, Alabama. The refuge sits on the Tombigbee River and is important destination for migrating waterfowl.
The refuge also hosts a number of animals including: Beaver, alligators, turkeys, coons, and whitetail deer.The refuge was founded in 1964 and host bottomland hardwoods and lowland lakes. It is managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
